Veterans You Belong with US

US LBM and our operating divisions provide not only fulfilling career opportunities for veterans, but also an environment that provides our veteran associates with networking and professional development opportunities.

Veterans are great team members who share our values of teamwork and empowerment, and we’re honored to have them as part of the US LBM family. As a distribution company with a network of locations across the country, the discipline and skills veterans bring in the areas of problem solving, communication and being a team player help us provide the high quality of service our customers rely on to get the job done.

Supporting Veterans

In 2019, US LBM adopted a supportive military leave policy for active reservists and formed a veteran committee through the company’s philanthropic foundation, the US LBM Foundation, to facilitate donations and community outreach to veteran assistance-focused organizations. In 2021, the Veteran Associate Resource Group (VARG) was established to engage and support the veteran community within US LBM, providing personal and professional development opportunities, networking, and fostering relationships with external organizations to help recruit more veterans into the company.

Supporting Veterans in the Community

One of the focus areas for the US LBM Foundation is to support our heroes of the armed services, and has partnered with several veterans-focused organizations. Over the past three years, the Foundation and US LBM’s operating divisions have partnered with the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence, Supporting Empowerment) Program and supported the construction of six specially adapted homes for wounded veterans in Florida, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.

Multiple Career Paths & Opportunities

US LBM’s national footprint and scale, along with the depth of our operations and services, provide multiple opportunities for career growth and development for veterans. In 2020 and 2023, US LBM and our veteran associates were featured on the national TV program Military Makeover: Operation Career, which highlights employers that provide rewarding career opportunities for veterans of the armed forces.
