US LBM welcomed 42 interns to our headquarters in Atlanta to kick off their 2025 internship with US! During the orientation program, these young men and women toured our Brand Vaughan facilities, networked with executives and top leaders in their fields, and participated in our new-hire orientation program, Blueprint. Our interns will learn this summer by doing real work at our facilities across the country and remotely, take part in weekly learning labs, and complete a capstone project.

Programs like Blueprint and our internship opportunities help students build essential skills through hands-on learning, turning classroom knowledge into real-world experience. With the industry changing and technology advancing every day, preparing the next generation of talent is more important than ever.

“Internships aren’t just a learning opportunity but a vital part of building a dynamic, diverse, future-ready workforce. By investing in the talent in our internship program, we create a pipeline of fresh perspectives that help industries grow, adapt, and stay ahead.  These programs also present the participants with a springboard into their professional network that can pay dividends both now and long into the future.” Said Gene Tomczak, US LBM Regional Vice President, NE.

Samatha W., EHS Intern says “I think internships are incredibly important for students and recent graduates because it allows for the opportunity of utilizing learned skills within a practical application and becoming familiar with situations only seen in the field. Internships also provide students and recent graduates with a form of mentorship and fosters an environment meant to support career goals.”

They’ll be diving into areas like communications, IT, operations management, sales — all while making meaningful contributions to the business.

As returning intern Ian K. shared, “There was always a sense of inclusion from everybody I interacted with… I always felt supported and never had the notion that I was on my own during challenging tasks. The professionalism, accountability and attention to detail I learned last year helped me prosper during and after my internship.” I came into the fall internship with a more mature, professional mindset and I have been able to carry that with me in every aspect of my career.”

For recent graduate and communications intern Ashley M., the opportunity to explore new areas within her field and contribute to real initiatives has already made an impact. “Experience is one of the most valuable assets I can gain at this stage in my career,” she said. “Being meaningfully involved in real projects will have a lasting impact on my career, capabilities, and future.”
