BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. (March 29, 2019) – US LBM Holdings, LLC (“US LBM”), a leading distributor of specialty building materials in the United States, has announced that Tim Liester has been named executive vice president of Operations & Sales for the company. Liester had spent more than 20 years with the Minnesota-based Lyman Companies, a division of US LBM, where he had been president since 2016. Scott Richter has succeeded Liester as president of Lyman Companies.
In this newly created role, Liester will be responsible for executing US LBM’s strategic initiatives and priorities to achieve continued and sustainable market growth. Liester will oversee US LBM’s four operating regions and the company’s Purchasing, Fleet, Manufacturing and Logistics functional areas. Liester will report to US LBM President and CEO L.T. Gibson.

Liester joined Lyman Companies in 1997, holding a number of critical management positions with the company. Prior to joining Lyman, he held sales and management roles with Trus Joist Corporation, now a division of Weyerhaeuser, and Georgia-Pacific. Liester holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and has also undertaken post graduate work at the University of Chicago and the University of Minnesota.
